Recently I shared my knowledge and techniques in using LinkedIn as lead a generator, relationship builder/consolidator and as a character referee with three of my networking connections. Jackie Williams, Edwin Devey and Paul Conlin.
In under 30 mins with each of them they each expressed amazement at what I shared, almost as though it was a secret formula guarded by the gods!
I believe LinkedIn is incomplete without the other activities that I perform in order to be fully effective, just my view and how I work. However, I stressed to each of them, before you start posting and joining groups decide what your goals, objectives and expectations are regarding LinkedIn (or any networking activity be it actual or virtual) and how you will measure its effectiveness. After all, isn’t that what you do with other business processes? So why should LinkedIn or any other platform or tool you use be different.
LinkedIn is a great platform to find your ideal audience, meet or connect with your target audience and to tell people, who could potentially help or use you, what you do – and the minimum cost is your time investment – How cool is that?
If you feel you are not using LinkedIn to its and your full potential, then I recommend you talk to someone like Neil Simpson of Launchpad learning and Daniel Knowles (LinkedIn Trainer). I have learnt and use several of Neil’s & Daniels techniques, tools and teaching.
