I have now followed up and invited my ‘New FSB Buddies’ to meet with me over coffee or beer (Christian) to learn more about each other and our business.
My goal, at our meeting is to convert each one into an ‘advocate of my business’. This is a two way business meeting and they should work to make me an advocate of their business.
This is the start of our relationship and I will work hard to maintain the relationship by connecting and communicating with each new advocate utilising all the tools available. For example posts and updates on social media, email, text, calls and of course what I term ‘consolidating our relationship’.
What so I mean by consolidating our relationship’?
If and when we meet at other events or otherwise, I will make a point of ‘catching up’ with them.
My communications will be a mix of Information and articles I feel may be of interest to them, Introductions to people that may have a synergy with their business/profession, updates and articles regarding my professional service offering and my activities and occasionally humorous topics, on the on the appropriate platform.
This strategy works great for me and my business. I accept it may not suit everyone but I believe there are elements that are transferable to anyone and there business.
