Roger Jonas & Katherine Smith
Members of Downtown In Lancashire and the Management of Huntleys Country Stores encouraged members and guests to ‘Hit everything today and in the future with a relentless and progressive force; to always keep pushing towards success, and continual progress, through both happiness and hardship, with strength of character and unyielding resolve’ – In other words RISE & GRIND.
Roger Jonas, almost half the man he used to be, played host in his own indomitable style – to a full house.
The Rise & Grind event has certainly captured the imagination and curiosity of the networking fraternity from Preston and the surrounding district.
Downtowns mantra is ’It’s not all about the coffee, it’s about the company you keep’ and we were in great company.
I chatted with Katherine Bell (Lancaster), Ian Cooke (Garstang), Susan Wilkinson (Coppull), Dominic Harrington (Langho), Debra Davis (Higham) Lindsay Campbell (Blackpool) Phil Griffiths (Preston) Simon Diggle (Blackburn)
Dave Paton the guest speaker. shared his career journey through the Fire Service, turning a multi-million pound business around, working across the Middle East and secondment to the Audit Commission.
Dave has built a portfolio of tools and accreditation including a unique coaching programme, which he uses to help businesses, leaders and teams achieve their ambitions.
I had the pleasure of a one to one with Dave almost a year to the day.
Thank you DIB and Huntleys for the opportunity to connect with ‘new business people’ and consolidate existing relationships.
