Although the number of attendees was below average the quality by far exceeded the shortfall. I met and chatted with Three DIB first timers, Mark (IT security) Johnny (Creative Designer) and Jonathon (Business Coach).
DIB members, the WriteAngle, was represented by Sarah Allen and Rachel Mann. We had an interesting debate about the virtues of life in Preston. The catalyst for the discussion was Paul Hindle (Lumenata Lighting Design) who extolled about life in Lancashire!
Members seemed to flow effortlessly around the room easily engaging with others. I met up with Jonathon (Business Coach) much later after the event. He told me that DIB was the first ever networking event he’d attended and that he was full of fear and trepidation immediately before before walking into the Kuckoo bar. This from a person who has backpacked around the world, worked in bars, clubs and mobile fast food outlets and as a lecturer!
He thoroughly enjoyed the experience and particularly how friendly everyone was – sharing experiences and information.
I rounded my evening off with some time with the Jones Corporate guys Mark and Steve. They’ve been busy working across the North West saving money for their clients by addressing issues such as employee theft, behaviour, non-compliance to procedures and shrinkage/waste.
Tracey McKenna did her usual great job a facilitator and introducer throughout the whole evening. Thanks DIB for providing another quality opportunity for me to grow my professional network of connections.
