The ever popular Business League attracted 40 plus delegates.
Open networking offered a chance to consolidate existing relationships and initiate new relationships through introductions.
My successes included agreed business with Bruce Maclean (Raecan) & Ian Cooke ( ASC finance), I introduced for Andrew Quiggly (Mobile Charging devices) to Steve Harrison (BDM O2 Stores), Suzanne Edmonds (Square Peg Associates) introduced Sarah Magiera (Senior Recruitment Consultant).
Berni brought the room to order and welcomed everyone. The meeting kicked off with a short presentation from Penny Heys (ACCROSS) and the colleges successes.
Jo Fulthrope (Hyndburn Enterprise Trust) reported the success and growth of the Trusts successes with SMEs across the region.
Following the two halves of formal seated networking and Lunch, Stephen James and SALUTE, a volunteer group shared their ‘Mission Plans’ – Helping armed forces veterans adjust to ‘civi street’.
SALUTE has already helped a lot serving and ex serving military personnel (VETERANS) and their families in the local area.
They have clients as young as 21 years old that has served in Afghanistan and are struggling to adjust to civilian life. Salutes clients have diverse needs, including mental health, advice on employment, couple relationship issues, and PTSD. Find out how you can help our Heroes through SALUTE.
Completion winners were announced and more ‘informal’ networking ensued. Any casual onlooker may have thought we were playing some sort of ‘musical chairs’ (without the music) such was the activity to collect contact detail or confirm meeting dates.
Well done Berni and the Team ACCROSS Business League.
