Bernis’ first event of the year was off to a flyer – and I nearly missed it.
Fifty one delegates representing businesses across the East Lancs & surrounding regions attended.
It was great to see Rob Heys back again amongst us. The now very familiar format was packed with New and relevant content.
The informal networking during the warm – up and after the final whistle seemed to be at more vibrant than before. Have more people latched on to the idea that Networking Works if you work at Networking?
Please share your observations/comments of the ABL
Chrissy Pilkington’s was as enthusiastic as ever with East Lancs chamber announcements and delivered her now adopted slogan, by the Business League, ‘Onwards and Upwards’ with Aplomb. Special Chamber date 15 Jan.
Jo Fulthore (Hyndburn Enterprise Trust ) present in mind & Spirit but not body. Berni read out a text message from Jo
Following the two rounds of seated networking and lunch, Oliver McCann (Partner Napthens Solicitors) delivered a short but very informative presentation on the ever evolving topic, Employment Law.
Oliver covered matters ranging from contracts to redundancy, staff handbooks to disciplinary procedures. The underlining message was quite clear – It is essential to receive legal advice you not only trust, but understand – and can implement.
Berni closed the meeting with the prize winner’s announcements and Free Kicks for some of the businesses in attendance:
During the tidy up it was discovered that Oliver had left his banner behind – Not to worry, I’ll drop it into the Preston Office!
