Philip Waine Chartered Accountant, taxation and business advisor at Leonherman.
Philip greeted me enthusiastically as he led me to the board room.
Carrying a mug of tea in one hand and a ‘flyer’ in the other – This man’s prepared I thought.
As we sat down Philip remarked about my LinkedIn profile avatar, dinner suit and bowler hat. I told him the story around the taking of that picture plus the brief history of the bowler. Somehow the conversation drifted towards the topic of boxing and my professional boxing career. Philip is obviously a fan of the ‘noble art’ and asked several informed and searching questions. Phil Martin was the trainer of Seven British title holders – simultaneously
Next we got down to the business at hand and Philip was already familiar with the Merchant service market. After hearing the details of the product offering he agreed that it was a great ‘added value’ proposition for prospective clients.
Mindful of the time and through respect for the firm’s faith and tradition we retired to the reception for a quick photo call before I bid him farewell.
Thank you for the opportunity to meet and chat Philip. It was nice to share some great memories of my fighting days. don’t forget, the power comes from ‘sequential rotation’.
