For most businesses, it’s a constant battle to attract new customers or clients. Business owners invest money, time and effort in this activity. I have found that a great way to ‘find’ potential clients is to ask my personal connections to introduce me to their connections.
These introductions fall into one of two groups.
1) Prospect who may need my service or
2) An individual with a large circle of influence.
The first group could be at one of several stages in the buying cycle – immediate need or at sometime in the future. So it’s a question of nurturing the relationship – provide relevant information and advice and keep in touch.
The second group of people I find really exciting. Gaining the trust and respect of this person can lead to the ‘hard to reach’ customer/client and also result in a constant flow of referral business.
