Members ‘do business’ at Dantes
Michael Donkin of the IT Dept asked me if I would like to sub for him. Of course I said yes, I didn’t however check the dates and arrived one week early. After much ribbing from the members, I was allowed to stay for the breakfast meeting but had to endure the good natured Jibes.
Let do Business is a networking initiative set up about four years ago. It is a very diverse and progressive group of professionals. ‘Let’s Do Business’ is strictly a business-to-business networking group, and all their members provide services to clients across the North West and beyond.
I visit at least three network events per week and this group rates right at the top of my preferred list of events to attend.
They follow a successful format that allows you to promote your business and that of fellow members. There is also an opportunity to ‘Showcase your business’ or if you wish, share other personal experiences with the group.
I was glad that I got the dates wrong because Andy Poar (The telecoms Guy) shared his passion for helping others through his work with the Samaritans that particular morning titled – Do We Really Listen?
This weeks meeting was also special as it was the precursor to another initiative organised by the group to help speed up the regeneration of businesses in Chorley and surrounding areas.
‘Let’s Do Lunch’ supported by Chorley Council, has specific aims and objectives. With 100 plus attendees expected, the group wanted to ensure that these objectives would be met. An integral part of the session would include an opportunity for business representatives to explain and discuss:
1) What they do and how they make a difference to your customers.
2) Mini case study / example clients.
3) A challenge that their business is having.
From the efforts and attention to detail from all in the room I am sure that the event will be a resounding success.
The ‘Let’s Do Business’ meeting is held at Dantes at the Half Way House, Chorley. The facilities are excellent and the cooked breakfast of your choice superb.
As a result of the invitations to Let’s Do Business, I have had 1:2:1s (Alex Bell & Jo Wilcox), passed referral business (County Insurance Group), completed business (Ebb & Flo Bookshop, Cakes by Ruth) and enjoyed the services of Michael Donkin of the IT Dept.
I have also made some good connections with business advisors and entrepreneurs in the Chorley area.
Members of the group, who are active on twitter, routinely engage with me in conversation and retweet some of my messages.
If you are looking for a professional and supportive network group to join, I would strongly suggest that you pay ‘Let’s Do Business’ a visit.
