Moorhouse’s Brewery, Burnley played host to the East Lancashire’s Chambers ’Networking Works’ event. What a superb venue and themed evening.
Managing Director of Moorhouse’s Brewery, David Grant, welcomed us with a promise of warm hospitality, light refreshments and sample brews. ‘The evening will be topped off with a tour of the new brewing facility.’
Jim’s presentation titled ‘Marketing using Social Media as a Reputation Centre’ made sense of the Whys and Ways in which review sites encourage users to post their views and recommendations. I came away with enough information to fuel my activities for the foreseeable future.
The presentation was followed by a few announcements by Chrissy and two prize draws. As usual Sue Rooney and Bruce of Raeclan picked these prizes up! Three attendees were given the opportunity to present their elevator pitch. This concluded the formal networking.
We were then treated to the tour. David is a great host. Quick witted and energy in abundance, he shared the history, the process and his vision of the future for the brewery. We finished the evening off with a gill in the pub across the road.
The event was a great success for me. I arranged a 1:2:1, invited two business owners to another network event as my guest, Consolidated several business relationships, gained valuable information from the presentation and was entertained by the tour and social drink afterwards.
