The league kicked off with Rob Heys, Stanley’s MD, sharing the positive steps he and the team have taken to turn around their recent poor form. This anecdote mirrored the same steps that business owners take in order to achieve success.
Bernie Roscoe then followed with the acknowledgement of the league’s first birthday. In addition to the usual table adornments the room was adorned with balloons. We were also treated to birthday cake at the end of the afternoon.
The room was again brimming today and we were introduced to the next generation of business networkers – Students on the College apprenticeship scheme.
Networking began in earnest and the room became alive with chatter. As each event occurs, it seems that more and more people stay back to consolidate connections and exchange details.
For me it’s a great opportunity to engage my 1:2:1s both before (John Kershaw) and after (Tom Donnelly, GluMedia) the official start time and nurture future connections during the meeting.
Special thanks to the New Mascot ‘Box Ed’ of Storefirst.com, Accrington Stanley’s Shirt Sponsor. After posing for photos, he handed out goodie bags to all who attended today.
